Elle Halliwell is a fashion and entertainment writer so it goes without saying that she’s often surrounded by some of Australia’s most beautiful and stylish people. Luckily her own pared back, clean and tailored take on style sets it’s own standard. When I met her at Carriageworks for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sydney she teamed a Balmain tee with navy satin trousers, flats, a Givenchy clutch and some killer glasses.
“I dress fairly practically and favour androgynous looks as I’m often running around for work. I love Givenchy’s pouches; they’re easy to carry and fit what I need”.
Amber Melody: What is the most important item in your wardrobe right now?
Elle Halliwell: The Hermès bracelets I received for my birthday this year from my husband.
AM: Heels or flats?
AM: Do you have a favourite Australian designer?
EH: I think they are all inspiring; it’s a tough industry, and you have to be incredibly focussed and tenacious to make it. I do find Josh Goot‘s silhouettes suit my shape and personal style best.
AM: What won’t you leave the house without?
EH: It’s boring, but my phone.
Thank you to Elle for being The Beautiful Lens’ very first 5 Fashion Minute With street styler. I’m a bit excited about this new series – it’s street style with a back story – and I hope you’re going to love it. Please let me know what you think in the comments below!
Love, Amber. XO
