Stella McCartney Autumn / Winter 2016 Lookbook
Girlboss par excellence Stella McCartney broke a few traditional Fashion Rules this week, 1. showing her Autumn/Winter 2016 collection in Los Angeles (not New York *gasp*) 2. during Pitti Uomo – the premium international Menswear fashion week held in Florence, Italy – AND 3. holding the whole event in a real-life record store with celebrity musicians and dancing models. As the daughter of a rock and roll legend – would we expect anything less? Non.
Rules were made for breaking.
And in that spirit I’m going ahead and breaking a few of my own ( AMBER 101: though shall only publish images shot exclusively for The Beautiful Lens) and sharing my favourite A/W16 looks with you, as photographed by Charlie Engman. 2016 will actually see more of this type of rule breaking as I expand the vision for TBL to not only produce world-class unique content but to also provide insight into the world of fashion as curated through The Beautiful Lens, um lens. I hope you’re going to enjoy this exciting change with me as we all get our fashion student face on and tune into the artistry and experimentation behind the international and local collections.
But back to Stella.
J’adore the sheer tulle dresses (warning: I’m just never.ever. getting over pant/skirt combinations #toomuchlove) and homage to Grumpy Cat. Genius. The sharp contrast of perfectly cut cigarette tuxedo silhouettes and epic slouchy pants, alongside beautiful broderie anglais, cable knit cashmere and faux fur Ocelot coats – and you could completely fill out your wardrobe, budget providing.
